Get Ya' Hands Dirty
When we started DAC back in 2017 we did a lot of “pop-up gallery” style events. We found when our Artists came together, the community also wanted to create artwork! It started with String Art and Bottle Openers at our events. In 2019, we decided to lease a warehouse and start a new program called Dirty Hands DIY. With a little elbow grease we opened up to the public offering fun DIY projects.

The Pandemic Pivot
Timing is everything! We had a choice to close or evolve to survive the Pandemic. We started an eCommerce overnight in March 2020 and sold thousands of DIY kits to all 50 States in 2020 and 2021! We featured Acrylic Pours, Bottle Openers, String Art, Candle Making, and more! The funds from our kits helped DAC when we needed it the most. in 2021, we knew it was time for a rebrand so we evolved from Dirty Hands to Out of the Box DIY!

A New Direction
In 2022, we wanted to shift our focus from the DIY kits to reopening our facility to the public. Running a massive eCommerce was never part of our plan so we focused refining our mission for Out of the Box. We decided to discontinue our other DIY kit offerings and transition from “Out of the Box to our “Artpothecary”. This is a funky modern colorful space is ready for our Acrylic Pours and our Artists to lead independent workshops.
What we offer is one of a kind. We are not your typical “paint night” or “stencil on wood” type of DIY space. Whether you are taking a workshop with one of our Artists or pouring with us, we promise you will love what you make.

Wow, what a ride.
Like any business built from scratch we have gone through growing pains. This all started as an idea to bring cool Art projects to people and has grown into a thriving business that supports our non-profit.
Our story is shared by all of the thousands of people who have created with us over the years. The Artpothecary would be nothing without a dedicated Artist staff over the years that have helped us build and grow.
